PSS 07-114-214 - Maintenance Kit For 1 1/4" Shaft
The PSS 07-114-214 Maintenance Kit is essential for maintaining the integrity and performance of your shaft seal system. Regular inspection and replacement of key components are crucial to ensure the longevity and reliability of your equipment.
As with any rubber or silicone hose below the waterline, the PSS bellows should be inspected regularly for signs of wear, aging, or chemical deterioration. PSS Seal recommends replacing the bellows every 6 years. During this replacement, it is also advisable to replace the o-rings, set screws, and hose clamps. The PSS Maintenance Kit includes all the necessary replacement parts for this process.

Note that the bellows should be replaced every 6 years, along with the o-rings and set screws in the stainless steel rotor, and the hose clamps. Typically, the carbon stator and stainless steel rotor do not require replacement.
Can I re-use my set screws when making an adjustment or removing the PSS Shaft Seal?
No. The set screws provided with the PSS Shaft Seal are cup-point set screws designed to compress onto the shaft when tightened. Re-using these set screws will prevent the cup point from locking onto the shaft properly. The PSS Maintenance Kit includes five new set screws to ensure proper fitting and functionality.
