PSS Seal recommends replacing the bellows every six years to ensure optimal performance. It is also advised to replace the o-rings, set screws, and hose clamps during this process. Typically, the carbon stator and stainless steel rotor do not need replacement under normal conditions.

Set Screw Usage

It is important to note that set screws provided with the PSS Shaft Seal are cup-point screws designed to compress onto the shaft securely when tightened. Re-using the set screws is not recommended, as they will not properly lock onto the shaft after being adjusted or removed. The kit includes five new set screws for this reason.
