As with any rubber or silicone hose located below the waterline, it is crucial to regularly examine the PSS bellows for signs of wear, aging, or chemical damage. PSS recommends that bellows be replaced every six years. During this replacement, it is advisable to also replace the O-rings, set screws, and hose clamps to ensure everything functions properly. All the essential components are conveniently included in the PSS Maintenance Kit.

Important Notes:

a.) In environments where non-sealed batteries emit sulfuric acid vapor, the bellows may require more frequent inspections. Such exposure can significantly accelerate the degradation of rubber compounds and also affects ozone levels.

b.) The locking screw should only be used once. In the stainless steel rotor, there are two holes for retaining screws. One locking screw secures the rotor to the shaft, while the second serves as a backup. The locking screw features a lace wreath at its base, which is pressed into the shaft, ensuring a secure grip.
