The PSS 03-90M-514 is an advanced solution for maintaining optimal performance in marine vessels. Its specialized design ensures reliable sealing, enhancing durability and functionality.

The PYI PSS PRO Shaft Seal features high-quality stainless steel and carbon sealing components, enhanced by a reinforced silicone bellow and a secondary shaft retention collar. It includes 316 stainless steel hose clamps and offers an optional upgrade with a Nitronic 50 rotor component, ideal for use in highly corrosive environments. This creates a dripless mechanical seal suitable for a variety of challenging applications, without replacing the existing PSS Type A Seal, but complementing the PSS Shaft Seal lineup.

How it Works:
- Two nitrile o-rings ensure a tight seal between the stainless steel rotor and the shaft, preventing wear.
- Secured by both a primary set screw and a backup set screw, the stainless steel rotor remains firmly attached to the shaft.
- A seal is established at the mating faces of the carbon stator and stainless steel rotor.
- Raw water flows into the PSS Shaft Seal, cooling and lubricating seal faces during high-speed operations.
- The stationary carbon stator is fixed to the bellow, which itself is secured to the stern tube (shaft log).
- The Shaft Retention Collar connects to the shaft, providing retention for the propeller or rudder in case of a catastrophic failure or disconnection from the coupling.
- Stainless steel rings reinforce the bellow, enhancing strength and durability; external rings are standard for sizes from 2-1/4" (60mm) to 3-3/4" (95mm) and optional for smaller diameters.
- Utilizes 316 stainless steel hose clamps with rolled edges and a non-perforated band and includes hose clamp tail protection and clamp jackets.
