The PSS 03-50M-314 PRO Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for exceptional durability and high performance in demanding environments. Featuring a robust mechanical face seal design, this product utilizes stainless steel and carbon components enhanced with a reinforced silicone bellows and a secondary shaft retention collar. It also includes high-quality 316 Stainless Steel hose clamps, designed with rolled edges and without perforations, ensuring a secure fit and resilience in harsh conditions. For applications facing extreme corrosive environments, an optional Nitronic 50 rotor upgrade is available.

As part of the PSS Type A & B Seal family, the PRO Shaft Seal maintains a reliable sealing surface between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, securely fixed to the heavy-duty silicone bellows, is connected to the vessel's stern tube via 316 SS hose clamps. The rotor compresses the bellows and is fastened to the shaft using set screws and a shaft retention collar, ensuring continuous contact between the sealing surfaces. This design allows the system to adapt to variable axial movements caused by propeller thrust while accommodating misalignments and vibrations from the drive line.

The stainless-steel rotor is equipped with two recessed O-rings that create a seal against the shaft, allowing them to rotate together without experiencing wear, thus ensuring longevity and reliability. The PSS PRO Shaft Seal is designed for a wide range of operational conditions, with temperature limits from -13°F to 425°F (-25°C to 220°C), a maximum pressure limit of 40 PSI (2.75 BAR), and shaft RPM limits of up to 10,000 RPM. The precise lapping of the carbon graphite and the careful finishing of stainless-steel components further contribute to its outstanding performance.
