The PSS PRO Dripless Shaft Seal is an advanced mechanical sealing solution designed for extreme durability and high performance in demanding conditions. Engineered with robust stainless steel and carbon sealing components, this product features a reinforced silicone bellows and a secondary shaft retention collar. In addition, it comes equipped with 316 Stainless Steel hose clamps featuring rolled edges and non-perforated designs, ensuring optimal performance. For environments with high corrosive rates, an optional Nitronic 50 rotor upgrade is available to further enhance resilience.

This specialized seal is perfect for applications where enhanced durability and resistance to harsh conditions are essential. The PSS PRO Shaft Seal employs a mechanical face seal mechanism, creating a sealing surface through the interaction of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached via a robust silicone bellows to the vessel’s stern tube, utilizing 316SS hose clamps for stability.

The stainless-steel rotor connects to the shaft in front of the carbon flange, serving to compress the bellows. This compression maintains constant contact between the rotor and flange, accommodating variable axial movement caused by propeller thrust. Designed to "float" around the shaft for adjustment, the carbon flange effectively compensates for misalignment and drive-line vibrations. Additionally, the stainless-steel rotor features two O-rings recessed into its bore, which rotate with the shaft and rotor to minimize wear during operation.
