The PSS 02-95M-614 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered to provide an efficient and reliable sealing solution for marine applications. With its innovative design, this mechanical face seal is a must-have for boaters looking to enhance their vessel's performance and prevent leaks.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a unique mechanical face seal mechanism. The sealing surface is established between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The stationary carbon flange is mounted onto the front side of the bellows using hose clamps, while the rear end of the bellows is secured over the stern tube with additional hose clamps. Positioned in front of the carbon flange, the stainless-steel rotor fits snugly onto the shaft. This rotor compresses the bellows prior to being secured to the shaft with set screws, establishing a pre-load that ensures continuous contact between the stainless-steel rotor and carbon flange, accommodating for variations in propeller thrust movement.

The carbon flange is specifically designed to float around the shaft due to its over-bored construction, thus allowing it to address issues related to misalignment and vibrations effectively. Additionally, the stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft with two O-rings fitted into the collar's bore, ensuring a secure fit. These O-rings rotate with the shaft and rotor without experiencing wear during operation, significantly increasing the product's lifespan.
