The PSS 02-95M-512 Dripless Shaft Seal is a high-performance solution designed to enhance your boating experience with reliable water-tight sealing. Its innovative mechanical face design ensures that your stern tube remains free of leaks while accommodating the dynamic movements of your vessel.

The PSS Shaft Seal employs a mechanical face seal, where the sealing occurs between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is mounted to the front of the bellows using hose clamps, while the back end of the bellows fits snugly over the stern tube and is secured likewise. The rotor is installed on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, and it compresses the bellows before fastening it with set screws. This pre-load keeps the rotor and flange in constant contact, allowing the seal to adapt to varying fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust. Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft due to its over-bored dimensions, which addresses potential misalignment and vibration issues. The stainless-steel rotor is secured to the shaft with two O-rings located within the collar's bore, enabling them to rotate without experiencing wear throughout operation.
