The PSS 02-90M-514 Dripless Shaft Seal offers a reliable sealing solution for your stern tube system, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

The PSS Shaft Seal is designed with a mechanical face seal that features a unique sealing surface between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows using hose clamps, while the rear end of the bellows fits over the stern tube, also secured with hose clamps. Positioned in front of the carbon flange, the stainless-steel rotor is mounted onto the shaft and compresses the bellows before securing with set screws. This pre-load ensures consistent contact between the rotor and carbon flange, allowing the seal to adapt to any fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust. Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored to the diameter of the shaft, enabling it to float and accommodate misalignment and vibration issues effectively. Sealing is enhanced through two O-rings recessed into the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, experiencing no wear during use.
