The PSS Type A Shaft Seal is a highly efficient mechanical face seal designed to provide superior performance in marine applications. This system ensures a watertight seal between the rotating shaft and the stationary components, minimizing the risk of water ingress and shaft wear. By using advanced materials and design, it effectively compensates for shaft misalignment and vibrations, making it a reliable choice for high-performance vessels.

• The sealing surface is created between a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange.
• The carbon flange is secured to the bellows with hose clamps, while the bellows fit over the stern tube and are secured with additional hose clamps.
• The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows, maintaining constant contact between the rotor and carbon flange, even compensating for movement due to propeller thrust.
• The carbon flange is designed to "float" around the shaft, reducing the effects of misalignment and vibration.
• O-rings in the stainless-steel rotor prevent leakage and eliminate wear during operation.
