The PSS 02-80M-534 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and efficient sealing solution for stern tubes. This innovative mechanical face seal utilizes a unique design to ensure a leak-free operation even under varying conditions.

Featuring a mechanical face seal, the PSS Shaft Seal creates a sealing surface between the flat stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which fits over the stern tube and is held in place with hose clamps. The rotor, mounted on the shaft, compresses the bellows, ensuring constant contact between the sealing surfaces. This pre-load allows the seal to adapt to fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust, while the over-bored carbon flange accommodates misalignment and vibration. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings that rotate with the rotor, minimizing wear during operation.
