The PSS 02-75M-534 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for marine applications, providing a reliable and efficient sealing solution for stern tubes. This innovative product features a mechanical face seal, ensuring optimal performance in various conditions.
Designed with a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange, the PSS Shaft Seal creates a robust sealing surface. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which is fixed to the stern tube with durable hose clamps. The rotor, mounted on the shaft, compresses the bellows to maintain constant contact between the rotor and flange, effectively accommodating propeller thrust movements.
The carbon flange is specifically engineered to "float" around the shaft, allowing it to adjust to misalignment and absorb vibrations. Two O-rings, located in the collar's bore, provide a secure seal against the shaft while rotating seamlessly to minimize wear.
