The PSS 02-75M-434 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance in marine applications. This innovative seal utilizes a mechanical face design to ensure a reliable and maintenance-free operation.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a sealing surface formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellows using hose clamps, while the rear of the bellows fits over the stern tube and is also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, compressing the bellows before being fastened with set screws. This pre-load creates consistent contact between the rotor and flange, allowing the seal to adapt to fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to fit loosely around the shaft, enabling it to compensate for misalignments and vibrations. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings positioned within the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, minimizing wear during operation.
