The PSS 02-70M-414 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for optimal performance and reliability in marine applications. Its innovative mechanical face seal technology ensures a secure and leak-free operation, making it an essential component for your stern tube system.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a mechanical face seal created between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows using hose clamps, while the bellows itself fits over the stern tube, also secured with hose clamps. The rotor, fitted on the shaft, compresses the bellows for a tight seal, ensuring constant contact between the rotor and flange. This design allows the PSS Shaft Seal to adjust for movement caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, accommodating misalignment and vibration. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings, which rotate with the assembly and remain unaffected by wear, ensuring longevity and efficiency.
