The PSS 02-65M-414 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide reliable sealing for marine applications. Its innovative mechanical face seal technology ensures a secure and effective seal, preventing water ingress while allowing for smooth shaft rotation.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a unique design that creates a sealing surface between the stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is attached to the bellows with hose clamps, which fit securely over the stern tube. The rotor compresses the bellows, maintaining constant contact with the carbon flange. This pre-load compensates for the movement caused by propeller thrust, ensuring optimal performance.

To accommodate misalignment and vibrations, the carbon flange is over-bored, allowing it to float around the shaft. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings that rotate with the assembly, minimizing wear during operation.
