The PSS 02-65M-314 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for reliable performance in marine applications. It utilizes advanced mechanical face seal technology to ensure a secure and maintenance-free seal around the stern tube.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a unique sealing mechanism where a stainless-steel rotor rotates against a stationary carbon flange. This configuration creates a durable sealing surface that adapts to movement caused by propeller thrust. The carbon flange, affixed to the bellows with hose clamps, accommodates misalignment and vibrations, ensuring optimal performance.

Installation involves fitting the stainless-steel rotor onto the shaft and compressing the bellows, which maintains constant contact between the rotor and the carbon flange. The rotor's design, including two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, minimizes wear and enhances longevity.
