The PSS 02-600-700 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and efficient sealing solution for stern tubes. This product features a mechanical face seal that ensures optimal performance in marine applications.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a unique design where the sealing surface is formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is secured to the front side of the bellows using hose clamps, while the back end of the bellows fits over the stern tube, also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is positioned on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, compressing the bellows to maintain constant contact between the rotor and flange. This pre-loading allows the seal to adjust for variable movement caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, which enables it to "float" around the shaft. This feature helps compensate for misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft with two O-rings that rotate with the assembly, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
