The PSS 02-600-634 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for reliable performance and durability in marine environments. This innovative seal combines advanced materials and engineering to provide exceptional protection against leaks and wear.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal operates as a mechanical face seal, utilizing a unique sealing interface between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which is clamped to the stern tube, ensuring a tight fit. The stainless-steel rotor is positioned on the shaft ahead of the carbon flange and compresses the bellows, creating a pre-load that maintains consistent contact between the sealing surfaces. This design allows the shaft seal to adapt to the fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is engineered to float around the shaft diameter, accommodating misalignment and reducing vibration issues. The seal is further enhanced by two O-rings that protect the junction between the stainless-steel rotor and the shaft, ensuring that the component remains wear-resistant throughout its operation.
