The PSS 02-600-612 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and maintenance-free sealing solution for marine applications. Engineered with precision, this mechanical face seal ensures optimal performance and longevity in harsh environments.

• Type: B PSS Shaft Seal, a mechanical face seal
• Sealing Mechanism: The seal is created between the flat surfaces of the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange.
• Construction: The carbon flange is attached to the bellows with hose clamps, while the bellows is secured over the stern tube. The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows and is secured with set screws.
• Compression: Pre-load maintains constant contact between the rotor and carbon flange, allowing the seal to compensate for fore and aft movement due to propeller thrust.
• Misalignment Compensation: The over-bored carbon flange allows it to "float" around the shaft, compensating for misalignment and vibration.
• Sealing: The rotor is sealed to the shaft by two O-rings, which rotate with the shaft and rotor and do not experience wear.
• Temperature Limits: -13°F to 425°F (-25°C to 220°C)
• Pressure Limits: 50 PSI (3.5 BAR)
• Shaft RPM Limits: 7,000 RPM
• Carbon Graphite: Lapped to 4 HLB (0.000044" tolerance)
• 316SS / Nitronic 50: Faced to 9-12 Ra
• Bellows Material: Mandrel formed silicone / fabric
