The PSS 02-514-712 Dripless Shaft Seal is a high-performance mechanical face seal designed to provide reliable and maintenance-free sealing for your stern tube. It utilizes a sophisticated design to ensure a leak-free operation and accommodate various conditions of shaft movement and alignment.
- Type: Mechanical face seal
- Sealing Mechanism: Stainless-steel rotor and stationary carbon flange create the sealing surface
- Attachment: Carbon flange secured with hose clamps to the bellows; bellows fitted over stern tube and secured with hose clamps
- Compression: Stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows for constant contact between sealing faces
- Carbon Flange: Over-bored to shaft diameter to allow for "floating" and compensate for misalignment and vibration
- Sealing: Two O-rings recessed into the collar’s bore, rotating with the shaft and rotor to prevent wear
- Temperature Limits: -13°F to 425°F (-25°C to 220°C)
- Pressure Limits: 50 PSI (3.5 BAR)
- Shaft RPM Limits: 7,000 RPM
- Carbon Graphite: Lapped to 4 HLB (0.000044" tolerance)
