The PSS 02-512-612 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for optimal performance and reliability in marine applications. This innovative sealing solution ensures that your vessel remains watertight, effectively preventing leaks and enhancing the longevity of your stern tube system.

Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal that forms a sealing surface between the flat faces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellows with hose clamps, while the back end fits over the stern tube and is also secured with clamps. The rotor is mounted on the shaft just in front of the carbon flange, where it compresses the bellows upon installation. This compression, known as pre-load, keeps the rotor and flange in constant contact, enabling the seal to adapt to any fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust. Furthermore, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, accommodating most misalignment and vibration issues.

Sealing integrity is enhanced by two O-rings, which are recessed into the collar's bore and rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
