The PSS 02-50M-334 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide reliable and efficient sealing for marine applications. This mechanical face seal ensures a tight and durable connection between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange, accommodating variable propeller thrust and shaft misalignment.
- Type: Mechanical face seal
- Sealing Surface: Flat surfaces of rotating stainless-steel rotor and stationary carbon flange
- Attachment: Carbon flange attached to the bellows with hose clamps; bellows secured to Stern tube with hose clamps
- Compression: Stainless-steel rotor compresses bellows, maintaining constant contact
- Misalignment Compensation: Carbon flange over-bored to shaft diameter, allowing it to "float" and accommodate misalignment
- O-Rings: Two O-rings seal the rotor to the shaft, rotating with the shaft and rotor without wear
