The PSS 02-500-800 is an advanced dripless shaft seal designed for marine applications, ensuring reliable performance under challenging conditions. This model is specifically engineered to enhance sealing efficiency and accommodate variable movement due to propeller thrust.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal operates as a mechanical face seal, utilizing the interaction between a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, securely attached to the front of the bellows with hose clamps, allows for a precise fit over the Stern tube. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft, compressing the bellows to maintain constant contact between the rotor and flange surfaces. This pre-load mechanism compensates for any fore and aft movements, ensuring a tight seal.

Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues. Sealing is enhanced by two O-rings that rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring minimal wear over time. The PSS shaft seal is built to withstand extreme temperatures and pressures, making it a robust choice for marine environments.
