The PSS 02-500-714 Dripless Shaft Seal is a high-performance mechanical face seal designed to provide reliable protection against water ingress. This innovative shaft seal maintains constant contact between its components, ensuring a secure seal even with variable movement caused by propeller thrust.
- Type: B PSS Shaft Seal
- Sealing Mechanism: Mechanical face seal with a stainless-steel rotor and carbon flange
- Attachment: Stationary carbon flange attached to the bellows with hose clamps; bellows secured over the Stern tube with hose clamps
- Pre-load: Stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows, ensuring constant contact between rotor and flange
- Misalignment Compensation: Carbon flange floats around the shaft to accommodate misalignment and vibration
- Sealing: Stainless-steel rotor sealed to the shaft with two O-rings
