The PSS 02-45M-212 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance in marine applications. It features a robust mechanical face seal that ensures a reliable barrier against water intrusion, providing peace of mind during your voyages.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal operates with a mechanical face seal where the sealing surface is formed between the stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which is clamped to the stern tube. This setup allows the stainless-steel rotor to fit over the shaft in front of the carbon flange, creating a pre-load that maintains constant contact between the two surfaces. This design compensates for any forward or backward movement caused by propeller thrust. Moreover, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues.

Sealing integrity is enhanced by two O-rings that secure the stainless-steel rotor to the shaft, rotating without wear during operation. This ensures longevity and reliability even under demanding conditions.
