The PSS 02-434-612 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance and reliability in marine applications. This advanced sealing solution utilizes a mechanical face seal that ensures a leak-free experience.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal features a unique sealing mechanism formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which fits snugly over the stern tube. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, compressing the bellows and ensuring consistent contact between the two surfaces. This pre-load allows the seal to adapt to variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

Designed with flexibility in mind, the carbon flange is over-bored to fit the shaft diameter, allowing it to float and effectively compensate for misalignment and vibrations. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, significantly reducing wear during operation.
