The PSS 02-414-700 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for reliability and performance in marine applications. This advanced sealing solution ensures a leak-free operation, protecting your vessel from water ingress while accommodating movement caused by propeller thrust.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal, where the sealing surface is formed between a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows' front side with hose clamps, while the rear end fits snugly over the stern tube, also secured by clamps. The rotor compresses the bellows, ensuring constant contact between its flat surface and the carbon flange, which allows for compensation against variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

Designed for flexibility, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, enabling it to “float” and effectively manage misalignment and vibrations. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings recessed in the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, minimizing wear during operation.
