The PSS 02-414-612 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for reliable performance in marine applications. This innovative product effectively prevents leaks around the stern tube while accommodating the movement of the propeller shaft.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal, where a stainless-steel rotor rotates against a stationary carbon flange to create a secure sealing surface. The carbon flange is firmly attached to the bellows, which is secured to the stern tube with hose clamps. The rotor, mounted on the shaft, compresses the bellows, ensuring consistent contact between the rotor and flange. This design allows the seal to adapt to any fore-and-aft movement caused by propeller thrust.

Moreover, the carbon flange is engineered to fit over the shaft diameter, enabling it to "float" and compensate for misalignment and vibration, enhancing overall durability. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings positioned in the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft and minimize wear over time.
