The PSS 02-414-534 is an advanced dripless shaft seal designed to provide reliable sealing performance for marine applications. Its innovative design ensures minimal maintenance and maximum efficiency, making it an essential component for any vessel.

The Type B PSS Shaft Seal operates using a mechanical face seal, where a sealing surface is formed between the flat stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows with hose clamps, while the back of the bellows fits over the stern tube, also secured with clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft, compressing the bellows to ensure a consistent seal. This pre-load creates constant contact between the rotor and flange, allowing the seal to adjust for any movement caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, accommodating misalignment and vibration, further enhancing its reliability. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, preventing wear during operation.
