The PSS 02-38M-300 Dripless Shaft Seal is a high-quality mechanical face seal designed to provide reliable sealing for stern tubes. This seal features a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange, creating a durable sealing surface that compensates for movement and misalignment.
- Sealing Mechanism: The seal operates between the flat surfaces of the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is attached to the bellows and secures over the stern tube with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is pre-loaded and compressed against the bellows to maintain constant contact.
- Misalignment Compensation: The carbon flange floats around the shaft to accommodate misalignment and vibration, ensuring effective sealing even under challenging conditions.
- Wear Resistance: The rotor is sealed with two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, minimizing wear during operation.
- Temperature Limits: 5°F to 225°F (-15°C to 107°C)
