The PSS 02-38M-212 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered to provide a reliable and maintenance-free sealing solution for stern tubes. This mechanical face seal utilizes a combination of stainless steel and carbon to ensure a tight and durable seal, even under challenging conditions.

• Type: A PSS Shaft Seal is a mechanical face seal.
• Sealing Surface: Created between the flat surfaces of the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange.
• Attachment: The stationary carbon flange is attached to the front side of the bellows with hose clamps, while the back end of the bellows fits over the stern tube and is secured with hose clamps.
• Rotor Compression: The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows before being secured to the shaft with set screws, maintaining constant contact between the flat faces of the rotor and carbon flange.
• Compensation: Allows for compensation of variable fore and aft movement due to propeller thrust and most misalignment and vibration problems.
• Sealing: The rotor is sealed to the shaft by two O-rings recessed into the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, avoiding wear during operation.
