PSS 02-35M-234 - Dripless Shaft Seal 35 mm, 2 3/4" Stern Tube
The PSS 02-35M-234 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable seal for your stern tube. This mechanical face seal ensures a leak-proof connection by creating a sealing surface between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The assembly involves fitting the stationary carbon flange to the bellows with hose clamps and securing the bellows to the stern tube with additional clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is then fitted to the shaft, compressing the bellows and maintaining constant contact with the carbon flange. This design allows the seal to adjust for any fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust and compensates for misalignment and vibration due to the floating carbon flange. The rotor is sealed to the shaft by two O-rings, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, minimizing wear over time.
