The PSS 02-358-600 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and effective seal for your stern tube, ensuring minimal leakage and optimal performance. This mechanical face seal features a high-quality construction that addresses the challenges of shaft movement and misalignment.
- Type: Mechanical face seal
- Sealing Surface: Rotating stainless-steel rotor and stationary carbon flange
- Attachment: Carbon flange secured with hose clamps to the bellows; bellows fits over the stern tube and is secured with hose clamps
- Compression: Stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows, maintaining constant contact and compensating for shaft movement
- Misalignment Compensation: Carbon flange is over-bored to float around the shaft, handling misalignment and vibration
- Sealing: Two O-rings in the collar's bore seal the rotor to the shaft and rotate with it, avoiding wear
- Temperature Limits: 5°F to 225°F (-15°C to 107°C)
- Pressure Limits: 15 PSI (1 BAR)
- Shaft RPM Limits: 10,000 RPM
- Carbon Graphite: Lapped to 4 HLB (0.000044" tolerance)
