The PSS 02-334-600 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for superior performance and reliability in marine applications. This mechanical face seal is designed to prevent leaks and protect your vessel's drive system from water ingress.
The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a unique sealing mechanism formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellows with hose clamps, while the back end fits over the stern tube and is also secured. The stainless-steel rotor, mounted on the shaft, compresses the bellows, ensuring constant contact between the rotor and flange. This pre-loading allows the seal to adapt to the movement caused by propeller thrust, maintaining its integrity even under variable conditions.
The carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, accommodating misalignment and vibrations. Additionally, two O-rings embedded in the collar seal the rotor to the shaft, rotating together without wear during operation.
