The PSS 02-32M-312 is a state-of-the-art dripless shaft seal designed for maximum performance in marine applications. This innovative product combines advanced engineering with high-quality materials to ensure a reliable and efficient sealing solution.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal operates as a mechanical face seal, where the sealing surface is formed between the flat faces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellows with hose clamps, while the back of the bellows is fitted over the stern tube and also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange. It compresses the bellows before being fastened to the shaft with set screws, creating a pre-load that maintains continuous contact between the rotor and flange. This design allows the seal to adapt to the varying fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust. Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, enabling it to float and effectively compensate for misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings recessed in the collar's bore, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
