The PSS 02-314-614 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for superior performance in marine applications. This mechanical face seal utilizes a robust design to ensure a reliable seal between the stainless-steel rotor and stationary carbon flange.

The sealing mechanism is achieved through the flat surfaces of the rotating stainless-steel rotor, which compresses a bellows attached to the carbon flange. This configuration allows the seal to adapt to the natural fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust. The carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues.

Additionally, the rotor is secured to the shaft using set screws, and two O-rings provide a secure seal, preventing wear during operation. This innovative design ensures the PSS Shaft Seal operates efficiently within a wide range of conditions.
