The PSS 02-314-514 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for reliable and efficient operation in marine environments. This advanced seal utilizes a mechanical face design to ensure a tight seal that prevents water from entering the stern tube.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a unique sealing mechanism formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows and is designed to accommodate the movement of the shaft. The rotor, fitted on the shaft, compresses the bellows, ensuring constant contact with the carbon flange. This compression allows the seal to adjust for any fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is engineered to float around the shaft, which helps mitigate misalignment and vibration issues. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings, which rotate with the shaft and do not suffer wear during operation, ensuring longevity.
