The PSS 02-22M-212 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for reliable performance in marine applications. This advanced mechanical face seal features a unique design that ensures a secure and leak-free connection between the shaft and stern tube, making it ideal for various boating conditions.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal where the sealing surface forms between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which is clamped at both ends to the stern tube. The rotor, mounted on the shaft, compresses the bellows before being fastened with set screws, ensuring a constant contact that adapts to dynamic movements caused by propeller thrust.

This innovative design allows the carbon flange to float around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues. Sealing is further enhanced by two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, preventing wear during operation. The PSS seal operates effectively within a temperature range of 5°F to 225°F (-15°C to 107°C) and can handle pressure up to 15 PSI (1 BAR) with shaft RPM limits of 10,000 RPM.
