The PSS 02-22M-134 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for reliable and efficient sealing in marine applications. This innovative product combines advanced engineering with high-quality materials to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal operates as a mechanical face seal, creating a sealing surface between the flat faces of a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellows with hose clamps, while the back of the bellows fits over the stern tube, also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, compressing the bellows to maintain constant contact between the rotor and the flange. This pre-loading allows the PSS to adapt to variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, which helps to accommodate misalignments and vibrations. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings placed in the collar's bore, ensuring that these O-rings rotate with the rotor and shaft, minimizing wear during operation.
