The PSS 02-22M-114 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance in marine applications. This mechanical face seal features a unique design that ensures a reliable, dripless connection between the rotating shaft and the stern tube.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal employs a sophisticated sealing mechanism where the stainless-steel rotor rotates against a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which is fastened around the stern tube using hose clamps. The rotor, fitted on the shaft, compresses the bellows, ensuring constant contact between the sealing surfaces. This design allows the seal to adapt to forward and backward movements caused by propeller thrust, while the over-bored carbon flange accommodates minor misalignments and vibrations.

Two O-rings embedded in the rotor collar provide a secure seal against the shaft, rotating seamlessly without wear. The PSS 02-22M-114 is built to withstand temperatures from 5°F to 225°F (-15°C to 107°C) and pressures up to 15 PSI (1 BAR), with a shaft RPM limit of 10,000 RPM.
