The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a sealing mechanism between a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, securely attached to the bellows with hose clamps, fits over the stern tube, providing a robust connection. The rotor compresses the bellows, maintaining constant contact between its flat surface and the carbon flange, which is over-bored to allow it to float around the shaft.
