The PSS 02-214-414 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for reliable and efficient operation in marine environments. This advanced mechanical face seal features a unique construction that ensures a secure seal between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange.

The sealing mechanism is created by the flat surfaces of the rotor and flange, which work together to maintain a consistent connection. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which fits over the stern tube, while the rotor compresses the bellows to establish a pre-load. This design allows the seal to accommodate any fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust, thus enhancing performance.

Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, enabling it to "float" and effectively manage misalignment and vibration issues. The shaft is sealed with two O-rings, which rotate with the rotor and do not wear out during operation, ensuring longevity and reliability.
