The PSS 02-214-334 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and efficient sealing solution for marine applications. With its advanced mechanical face seal technology, it ensures a secure fit and minimal leakage, enhancing the performance of your vessel.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a mechanical face seal, where the sealing surface is formed between the flat surfaces of a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the front of the bellows with hose clamps, while the back of the bellows fits over the stern tube and is also held in place with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange. It compresses the bellows before being secured to the shaft with set screws, creating a pre-load that maintains constant contact between the rotor and carbon flange. This design allows the seal to adjust for any variable movements due to propeller thrust. The carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, allowing it to float and accommodate misalignment and vibration. Additionally, the rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings that rotate with it, ensuring durability without wear during operation.
