The PSS 02-212-500 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for superior performance and reliability in marine applications. Featuring a robust mechanical face seal, it ensures a tight seal between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows with hose clamps, while the bellows itself fits snugly over the stern tube, providing an effective barrier against leaks.

As the stainless-steel rotor is installed on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, it compresses the bellows to maintain constant contact between the rotor and flange surfaces. This compression allows the PSS seal to adapt to fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust, ensuring optimal functionality. The carbon flange is over-bored to the shaft diameter, allowing it to float and compensate for misalignment and vibrations, enhancing durability and performance.

The stainless-steel rotor is securely sealed to the shaft with two O-rings, which rotate with the rotor, minimizing wear over time. This design allows the PSS to operate efficiently across various conditions.
