The PSS 02-212-414 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide a reliable and efficient sealing solution for marine applications. This advanced mechanical face seal features a unique design that ensures minimal leakage while accommodating the dynamic movements of the shaft.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal utilizes a mechanical face seal where the sealing surface is formed between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which fits over the stern tube and is held in place with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft and compresses the bellows, creating a pre-load that maintains constant contact between the rotor and the carbon flange. This design allows the shaft seal to adapt to variable movements caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the over-bored carbon flange allows it to "float" around the shaft, effectively compensating for misalignment and vibration. The stainless-steel rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings, which rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring long-lasting performance without wear during operation.
