The PSS 02-212-314 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed for marine applications, ensuring efficient sealing and minimizing leakage. This innovative product features a mechanical face seal where the sealing surface is established between the rotating stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange.

The stationary carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows with hose clamps, while the back end of the bellows fits over the stern tube, also secured with hose clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft in front of the carbon flange, compressing the bellows to maintain constant contact between the rotor and the flange. This pre-load allows the PSS seal to adapt to any fore and aft movement caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored to accommodate the shaft diameter, enabling it to float and effectively address misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed to the shaft using two O-rings, which are recessed into the collar's bore. These O-rings rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring they do not wear down during operation.
