PSS 02-20M-114 - Dripless Shaft Seal 20 mm, 1 1/4" Stern Tube
The PSS 02-20M-114 Dripless Shaft Seal is designed to provide reliable sealing for marine applications. Utilizing a mechanical face seal, it ensures a robust connection between the stainless-steel rotor and the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange is attached securely to the bellows, which fits over the stern tube. This design allows for effective compensation of any movement due to propeller thrust.
The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows before being secured to the shaft, maintaining consistent contact with the carbon flange. This pre-load feature allows the seal to adapt to varying fore and aft movements. Additionally, the carbon flange is over-bored, enabling it to float around the shaft to address misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is sealed with two O-rings that rotate with the shaft, ensuring durability and minimal wear during operation.
