The PSS 02-200-314 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for optimal performance in marine applications. This advanced sealing solution ensures a reliable barrier against water ingress while accommodating the dynamic movements of the vessel.

The Type A PSS Shaft Seal employs a mechanical face seal system, where a stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange create the sealing surface. The carbon flange is securely attached to the bellows, which fits over the stern tube, ensuring a robust installation. The rotor compresses the bellows, maintaining constant contact between the two surfaces and allowing for compensation of fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust.

The carbon flange's design permits it to "float" around the shaft, effectively addressing misalignment and vibration issues. The rotor is secured to the shaft with set screws, and its sealing is enhanced by two O-rings that rotate without wear during operation.
