The PSS 02-200-312 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for reliable performance in marine applications. This innovative mechanical face seal design effectively prevents leaks, ensuring the integrity of your vessel's stern tube.
The Type A PSS Shaft Seal features a unique sealing mechanism where the rotating stainless-steel rotor meets the stationary carbon flange. The carbon flange, securely attached to the bellows, allows the system to effectively manage thrust variations from the propeller. The stainless-steel rotor compresses the bellows to maintain optimal contact with the carbon flange, accommodating for any forward and backward movement.
Moreover, the carbon flange is designed to float around the shaft, mitigating alignment and vibration issues. The rotor's connection to the shaft is fortified by two O-rings, which rotate in sync with the rotor, ensuring they remain free from wear during operation.
