The PSS 02-150M-858 Dripless Shaft Seal is engineered for superior performance and reliability in marine applications. This innovative seal utilizes a mechanical face design that ensures a robust sealing surface between a rotating stainless-steel rotor and a stationary carbon flange.

The stationary carbon flange is securely attached to the front side of the flexible bellows using hose clamps, while the back end of the bellows fits over the stern tube, also secured with clamps. The stainless-steel rotor is mounted on the shaft, positioned in front of the carbon flange. It compresses the bellows, establishing a pre-load that keeps the rotor and carbon flange in constant contact. This design allows the PSS seal to adapt to the shaft's fore and aft movements caused by propeller thrust.

Additionally, the carbon flange is engineered to float around the shaft, accommodating misalignments and vibrations effectively. Sealing is further enhanced by two O-rings, which are recessed into the collar's bore. These O-rings rotate with the shaft and rotor, ensuring minimal wear during operation.
